Thought I'd do a lighter side of things today as well.
VMWare. If you don't know what it is, get with the program. I'm not knocking Xen, Hyper-V or anyone else - it just happens to be the only virtualization technology I've used. And It's awesome. I'm currently running an ESXi box and VMWare Workstation for various reasons. Check it out.
The Cloud. See sentence #1 for VMWare. This solves some problems and creates a great architecture for companies to provide services
Print servers. Have one - it sucks. Been looking for a new one, they suck. I've been reading a lot of reviews, wireless print servers are slow, none of them (including wired) have support for many printers, or Windows 7. If anyone has had better luck with these things than me, let me know!

I've been doing more research on robotics platforms, from the arduino and parallax versions to full blown frameworks and operating systems for robotics development. I'm intrigued by all of them, and will continue to push to see the capabilities of each. I've always been a big fan of open source, and am interested in looking more into a few open source platforms. One of which is ROS, which is an "open-source, meta-operating system for your robot" according to their website. Out of all of
Cosmic rays are being questioned as the cause of Toyota's recent petal problems. NESC has been called in to investigate whether the natural phenomenon is responsible for the malfunctioning electronics. Modern electronics are more susceptible to random occurrences like this than ever before. Cosmic rays, as well as other interference can cause the circuits to perform unexpectedly. Though, it could just be a design problem.
